Currently, N9 canal in O Me village, Hung Dao commune, Tu Ky district (Hai Duong) is abandoned. The canal bed is overgrown with weeds and full of garbage.
The N9 canal, about 2km long, was built 17 years ago with the State budget. According to the design, the canal has the function of supplying irrigation water to a part of the cultivated land area in the two communes of Hung Dao and Tai Son. Because the construction unit designed the wrong elevation, the canal bed was too high and could not carry water. Therefore, the N9 canal has not been used for many years. This situation not only pollutes the environment but also causes waste.
