Mobilizing social resources to strengthen schools and classrooms

On the morning of October 25, the Ministry of Education and Training summarized the socialization work on solidifying schools, classrooms and public housing for teachers in the period 2013 - 2023, tasks and solutions in the coming time.

Comrade Le Thanh Long, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister attended the conference.

The conference was connected online to 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Attending the conference at Hai Duong province were Director of the Department of Education and Training Luong Van Viet and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged and commended the education sector and related ministries, sectors, units, organizations, businesses, families and individuals for their important contributions to effectively implementing the socialization of education, especially the consolidation of classrooms and the construction of public housing for teachers in the recent period. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that, along with investment from the state budget, mobilizing social resources is an important resource to contribute to the construction of infrastructure, spacious classrooms, creating motivation to improve the quality of education.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Education and Training, ministries, branches, central agencies and localities to continue to pay attention to and effectively implement the socialization of education in consolidating schools and classrooms and building public housing for teachers in the coming time.

Localities continue to review and plan the school network in the area, paying attention to construction planning, ensuring suitable land funds to build schools and classrooms to meet learning needs associated with urbanization trends and population shifts, and not allowing violations to occur during implementation...

At the conference, delegates discussed and proposed solutions to further strengthen the socialization of school, classroom and teacher housing construction, joining hands to contribute and create motivation for the education sector to improve the quality of education.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to collectives, families and individuals with outstanding achievements in socialization work in consolidating schools, classrooms and public housing for teachers in the period 2013-2023.

According to a report by the Ministry of Education and Training, by the end of 2023, the country will have over 545,000 solid classrooms, reaching a rate of nearly 87%, an increase of nearly 21% compared to 2013. The current demand for public housing for teachers in localities is nearly 11,000 rooms.

Over the past 10 years, more than 300 organizations, businesses and individuals have supported about 33,000 billion VND to solidify 36,000 classrooms and 1,300 public rooms for teachers nationwide.
