Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee has just issued the 2023-2024 school year schedule for preschool education, general education and continuing education.

Accordingly, first graders will return to school on August 21, two weeks before the new school year begins, one day earlier than the previous school year. Second, third, fourth and fifth graders will return to school on August 28, one day earlier than the previous school year; preschoolers and students in the remaining grades will return to school on August 29.

The first semester of preschool education will end before January 5, 2024, 1 day earlier than the previous school year, and the second semester will end before May 24, 2024, 5 days later than the previous school year. The first semester of primary education will end before January 12, 2024, 2 days later than the previous school year, and the second semester education plan will be completed before May 24, 2024, 1 day earlier than the previous school year.

Semester I of junior high school, high school and continuing education will end before January 11, 2024, 4 days later than the previous school year; the education plan for semester II will be completed before May 25, 2024, 5 days later than the previous school year.

The end date of the school year is unified throughout the province on May 31, 2024. The previous school year, each level and grade has its own end date.

Schedule for consideration of recognition of completion of primary school program and consideration of recognition of secondary school graduation before June 30, 2024; completion of grade 1 enrollment before July 24, 2024; completion of grade 6 and grade 10 high school enrollment before July 31, 2024. High school graduation exam and consideration of recognition of high school graduation according to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The exam schedule for selecting excellent students for grade 9 is January 13, 2024, 2 days later than the previous school year; grade 10 high school is April 3, 2024, more than 3 months later than the previous school year; grade 12 high school is October 25, 2023, 6 days later than the previous school year; grade 12 continuing education is October 25, 2023, about 2 months earlier than the previous school year; the exam to select the national excellent student team is September 22, 2023, 1 day later than the previous school year.

Any unit that changes the opening date must report and ask for permission from the competent authority. The Director of the Department of Education and Training decides to let students stay home from school in case of extreme weather or natural disasters and arrange make-up classes; ensure teachers' time off during the school year.
