Strive for export turnover to increase by more than 20%

With about 500 hectares of vegetables, tubers and fruits in all districts of the province, Hoang Nam Phat Cooperative (Hai Duong City) exports about 100 tons of vegetables, tubers and fruits to markets in Laos, Thailand, Korea, India, Malaysia, etc. every day. Mr. Ho Viet Hoan, Director of Hoang Nam Phat Cooperative said: "In the coming time, the cooperative will continue to expand production, linking with members of provinces and cities to meet the export market because currently supply cannot meet demand".

With the desire to bring Hai Duong products not only for domestic consumption, from the beginning, Hoang Giang Joint Stock Company in Cam Thuong Ward (Hai Duong City) determined to build products that meet OCOP standards with the long-term goal of reaching out to the world. The company's main products are green bean cakes. After officially conquering the Japanese market through official channels, the company continued to seek partners and expand the export market.

Mr. Dao Quang Chuyen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoang Giang Joint Stock Company, said: “During this period, the company has identified key markets such as the US, UK, South Korea, Taiwan, Canada and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for trade promotion. We often bring 30-50 boxes of products to the markets to see consumer feedback. This will create a stepping stone for the export process later.”

According to the Provincial Statistics Office, in the first 7 months of 2024, the value of Hai Duong's export goods is estimated at 5 billion 699 million USD, up 7.9% over the same period last year. The main export items are textiles, footwear, electronic components, electric wires and cables, cement, iron and steel. The main export markets are the United States, the European Union (EU), Japan...

Entering 2024, Hai Duong's major export markets such as the US, South Korea, and Japan are showing signs of recovery, with increased demand for goods after a difficult year. Of which, the US market accounts for the largest proportion, in the first 7 months of this year, Hai Duong's export turnover to this country reached 1 billion 762 million USD, up 10% over the same period last year. Next are the Korean markets with an export turnover of 579 million USD, the Japanese market 527 million USD, the growth rate of these two markets both reached approximately 8.1%. All three markets, the US, South Korea, and Japan, participate in free trade agreements.

Hai Duong's main export industry is still textiles and garments, reaching 1.23 billion USD; followed by machinery and equipment with 807 million USD; computers and electronic components with 762 million USD; and footwear with 426 million USD...

With the growth rate in recent times, along with the positive recovery of the world economy, Hai Duong strives to achieve the total export turnover target of 11 billion 800 million USD in 2024, an increase of more than 20% over the previous year.
