Waterway traffic through the area of Km91+230 Thai Binh River is restricted until December 31, 2026.

According to the Inland Waterways Department of Region I, the waterway through the area of km91+230 of the Thai Binh River national waterway (left bank in Hiep Cat commune, Nam Sach district, Hai Duong; right bank in Trung Kenh commune, Luong Tai district, Bac Ninh province) has just entered a period of water traffic restriction to serve the construction of the Kenh Vang bridge. The traffic restriction period lasts until December 31, 2026.

Accordingly, the size of the waterway is limited compared to the standards of the Thai Binh River waterway.

Currently, the upstream and downstream of the project are under construction. Waterway signs have been installed in the restricted traffic area and forces have been arranged to regulate and guide watercraft traffic in accordance with the construction situation.

The Waterways Department recommends that water vehicles traveling through the above area must strictly follow the instructions of traffic control forces and waterway signals to ensure traffic safety.

It is known that the project to invest in the construction of the Golden Canal Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, helping to connect Bac Ninh - Hai Duong provinces, is invested by the Bac Ninh Transport Construction Project Management Board. The project was started in September 2024, with a bridge design and construction length of about 13.4 km, with a total investment of 2,182 billion VND.

During the investment preparation process, according to Resolution No. 366/NQ-HDND dated May 10, 2021 of the People's Council of Bac Ninh province on approving the investment policy for the project to build Kenh Vang bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong, the project has a total cost of nearly 1,600 billion VND.

However, to ensure practical conditions when implementing the project and in accordance with the adjustment of the 5-year public investment plan of Bac Ninh province's budget (2021-2025), the People's Council of Bac Ninh province issued a resolution approving the adjustment of the total investment to increase to VND 2,182 billion. The project has investment capital from the central budget to support the medium-term plan for the period 2021-2025 of VND 900 billion. The remaining investment is from local public investment capital and other sources (if any).

Meanwhile, according to the Inland Waterways Sub-Department of Region I, currently on the Cau River in the area of Km46+350 (Van An Ward, Bac Ninh City, Bac Ninh Province), waterway traffic is also being restricted to serve the construction of the project: Emergency handling of landslides on river banks and banks in the dike section from K49+710 to K49+840 on the right dike of the Cau River.

The restriction period ends on December 26, 2024. Therefore, water vehicles passing through here need to increase vigilance, comply with the instructions of signals and water traffic control forces to prevent incidents.
