Monthly support for residential health workers was an important issue considered at the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee meeting in July (2nd time) on July 22.
The Department of Health of Hai Duong province proposed to support medical staff in villages with less than 350 households and residential areas with less than 500 households at 0.3 times the basic salary (equivalent to 702,000 VND/person/month). Medical staff working in villages with more than 350 households and residential areas with more than 500 households will receive 0.4 times the basic salary (equivalent to 936,000 VND/person/month). The budget to support 1,341 medical staff in villages and residential areas for 1 year is more than 13 billion VND.
From 2021 to present, Hai Duong province has 909 village health workers receiving monthly support at the rate of 0.3 basic salary/person/month. Health workers in residential areas are not receiving support, so since then, there have been no active health workers in residential areas in the province.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban requested the Department of Health to coordinate with localities to assess the current situation and the necessity of medical staff activities in villages and residential areas. From there, provide accurate and specific data to have a basis for issuing policies. At the same time, consult neighboring provinces and cities on issuing policies to support medical staff in villages and residential areas, and propose plans suitable to the actual situation in Hai Duong.
