Hai Duong and Ford Motor sign investment cooperation memorandum

Within the framework of the investment promotion trip to the US from September 14 to 22, the Hai Duong provincial delegation led by comrade Tran Duc Thang, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and worked with Ford Motor Group.

Mr. Steven Croley, Chief Policy and Legal Advisor; Ms. Simonetta Verdi, Executive Director of Government Relations, International Markets and Ms. Isabelle Howes, Director of International Government Relations received and worked with the delegation.

The two sides discussed and agreed on solutions to propose the Vietnamese Government to remove some obstacles for Ford Vietnam Company Limited. Hai Duong Provincial Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang pledged that Hai Duong province will create the most favorable conditions for Ford Motor to continue expanding its investment and business in Vietnam.

Ford Motor was founded by Mr. Henry Ford in 1903. After 120 years of existence and continuous development, Ford has become a global brand, a symbol of American strength and culture. Immediately after the normalization of Vietnam - US relations, Ford came to Vietnam to explore investment opportunities and was the first US investor to invest in Vietnam.

In September 1995, Ford Vietnam Co., Ltd. was established from a joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Diesel Song Cong - Vietnam Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 125 million USD. Ford Vietnam's assembly plant in Hai Duong province was opened in November 1997 with a capacity of 14,000 vehicles/year. To date, Ford Vietnam has a total investment of 185 million USD with a capacity of 40,000 vehicles/year.

Over the past 26 years, Ford Vietnam has continuously developed, becoming one of the enterprises with important contributions to the socio-economic development of Hai Duong province. The company has created jobs for thousands of local workers, contributed greatly to the provincial budget and promoted the development of Vietnam's automobile industry. In the period of 2015 - 2022, the company has contributed over 13,000 billion VND to Hai Duong's budget..Ford also accompanies the Vietnamese Government and Hai Duong province in implementing social policies according to the province's guidelines...
