On the afternoon of March 28, at Ho Chi Minh Primary School (Chi Linh City), the Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union organized the "Dien Bien Young Soldiers" Festival in 2024 and launched a Painting Contest to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).
The 4 teams participating in the festival were named after 4 heroes of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign: Tran Can, Phan Dinh Giot, Be Van Dan, To Vinh Dien. The teams competed in 3 parts: Greeting to the young soldiers, Understanding young soldiers, Eloquence of young soldiers.
In the contest "Say hello to the little soldiers" with the theme "Dien Bien Phu - Historical rendezvous", children introduced the team members and the hero whose name the team was named after in the form of poems, songs, chants, rhymes, and skits with creativity and impression.
In the Knowledgeable Little Soldiers contest, each team member answered 10 multiple choice questions about historical knowledge with the theme "Heroic Dien Bien Phu".
In the Young Soldiers' Eloquence Contest, 1 representative member from each team presented their team's wall newspaper or drawing with the theme "Dien Bien Phu in the hearts of Chi Linh children".
After 3 exciting and creative rounds, Tran Can's team won first prize. Second prize went to To Vinh Dien's team. Phan Dinh Giot and Be Van Dan's teams won third prize.
The "Little Soldiers of Dien Bien" Festival aims to educate and foster national pride and gratitude to the previous generation for students. At the same time, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and understanding of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory. From there, it raises the spirit and responsibility of the young generation in preserving and promoting the golden history of the nation.
