On September 21-22, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Hai Duong plans to coordinate free screening to detect congenital heart disease in children under 16 years old in the province.
Hanoi Heart Hospital will coordinate with philanthropists to support medical expenses for children diagnosed with the disease. The level of support depends on the mobilized funds, with priority given to children under policy, poor and near-poor households, and families in especially difficult circumstances.
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs requests the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, People's Committees of communes, wards, and towns, medical facilities and related units to organize propaganda and post information about the program at the headquarters of the People's Committees at the commune level, community activity points, cultural houses, etc. so that people, especially families with children suspected of having cardiovascular diseases, can grasp the program and participate. Children suspected of having cardiovascular diseases often have symptoms such as: frequent coughing, wheezing, rapid breathing, chest indrawing when inhaling; children often have pneumonia, bronchitis; children grow slowly, pale skin, cold, sweating, etc.
Families in need can visit Thanh Mien District Medical Center on September 21 and Hai Duong Provincial Children's Hospital on September 22.
