The Department of Planning and Investment of Hai Duong province has built a schedule for the implementation of the Project to establish a Special Economic Zone of the province to meet the requirements of quality and promptly serve the socio-economic development goals of the province.
Accordingly, the draft project will be completed and reported to the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and the Provincial Party Executive Committee in the fourth quarter of 2024. In December 2024, the province will submit the project for appraisal. After that, the specialized agencies and consulting units will receive appraisal opinions from central ministries and branches and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval in the first quarter of 2025.
Hai Duong Special Economic Zone is located in the west of the province, south of the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway, with a total area of about 5,300 hectares in the two districts of Binh Giang and Thanh Mien. Hai Duong Special Economic Zone will have 7 functional sub-zones.
Of which, 13 industrial parks and 3 industrial clusters will be formed with a total area of over 3,150 hectares. The commercial service and logistics area will be 75 hectares near the Hanoi-Hai Phong highway. The innovation center will be about 60 hectares wide, which is the core of the province's high-tech industrial development. The public infrastructure development area will be 60 hectares, building educational, medical, and park facilities, etc.
The urban and residential area has an area of about 530 hectares planned in association with industrial parks, oriented towards green and smart urban development. The current residential area of 1,574 hectares will be planned to be synchronously connected with the regional technical infrastructure. The agricultural development area will be oriented towards high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture.
