Two brothers from Hai Duong were both called up to the national youth archery team.

They are two archers Pham Tran Hoang (born in 2005) and Pham Tran Bao Huy (born in 2007), both members of the Hai Duong youth archery team, led by coach Nguyen Xuan Thanh.

According to the decision of the Department of Physical Training and Sports, Tran Hoang and Bao Huy will gather for the national youth archery team at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi from July 1 to December 31, 2024. In addition to Tran Hoang and Bao Huy, there are 10 other archers in this call-up.

This is the first time Hai Duong has had two brothers in archery being called up to the national youth archery team. In the history of Hai Duong sports, two other pairs of brothers have been called up to the national team but both were in shooting: Nguyen Duc Ha, Nguyen Duc Uynh (the first Hai Duong shooter to compete in the Olympics) and Tran Quoc Cuong, Tran Thi Hong Van. Tran Quoc Cuong is also a Hai Duong shooter who competed in the Olympics.

Before joining the national youth team, Pham Tran Hoang and Pham Tran Bao Huy will compete in the 2024 National Youth Archery Championship hosted by Hai Duong, starting from July 7 at the Hai Duong Sports Training, Coaching and Competition Center.

Brothers Tran Hoang and Bao Huy were born into a family with a tradition of sports. The father of these two archers is Mr. Pham Ba Vuong, a former shooter of the Hai Duong team, and their uncle is Mr. Pham Bien Thuy, a former shooter of the national team.

At the 9th National Sports Festival in 2022, Tran Hoang won the only gold medal for the Hai Duong team in the 3-string bow event, while other famous senior shooters Nguyen Hoang Phi Vu and Le Phuong Thao all finished blank.
