According to the Hanoi Center for Disease Control, last week, Hanoi recorded 2,404 more cases of dengue fever; the number of cases increased to a record high. New cases were recorded in 30 districts, towns and cities; the areas with many cases this week were: Ha Dong (174 cases), Phu Xuyen (161 cases), Cau Giay (150 cases), Dan Phuong (145 cases), Hoang Mai (141 cases), Dong Da (138 cases), Thanh Oai (135 cases), Ba Dinh (124 cases), Nam Tu Liem (120 cases)...
Also last week, Hanoi recorded 95 more dengue fever outbreaks in 19 districts, towns and cities; the most were: Bac Tu Liem District with 14 outbreaks; Hoang Mai District with 13 outbreaks; Dong Da District with 11 outbreaks... This is also the week with the highest number of outbreaks since the beginning of the year.
Thus, from the beginning of 2023 to now, Hanoi has had 12,776 cases of dengue fever (3.5 times higher than the same period in 2022), including 3 deaths; there were 870 outbreaks, of which 257 are still active.
The leader of the Hanoi Center for Disease Control said that Hanoi is entering the peak of the dengue fever epidemic. With the current climate and weather conditions, the epidemic situation is forecasted to continue to develop complicatedly in the coming weeks.
The Hanoi Center for Disease Control has requested units to strengthen monitoring of mosquito larvae and dengue fever-transmitting mosquitoes in areas with cases, outbreaks, and high-risk areas, thereby implementing appropriate and timely response activities. Surveillance and prevention of dengue fever continues to be implemented in outbreaks in districts.
