Vietnam has 5 people in the top 10,000 scientists in the world recently announced by the American magazine PLoS Biology, including Professor, Doctor of Science Nguyen Dinh Duc (born in 1963, from An Phu ward, Kinh Mon), Head of the Department of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Training, Hanoi National University.
Professor Duc is the leader among the five scientists in the top 10,000 with a ranking of 5,949 in the world and 96th in the world in the field of Engineering. This is the third consecutive year that the professor has been in the top 10,000 scientists in the world.
This ranking was researched by a group of leading scientists from Stanford University (USA) and published in the journal PLoS Biology. The group of scientists used the Scopus database from 1960 to August 2021 to filter from more than 7 million scientists to select the top 100,000 most influential people and then select the top 10,000 scientists. Scientists around the world are divided into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields (fields/specialties).
