Director of Department of Industry and Trade Tran Van Hao: Industrial clusters without investors still have limited infrastructure

On the afternoon of December 10, answering questions at the 28th session of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Tran Van Hao stated the reasons and proposed solutions to handle 22 industrial clusters that are operating without investors.

Comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Duong province requested the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade to urgently research and advise on support policies, attract investment, and resolve shortcomings.

Questioning the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, delegate Truong Thi Thuong Huyen (Binh Giang) said that currently the whole province has 22 industrial clusters in operation without investors (1 industrial cluster has been scored for investor selection) and asked the director of the department to give reasons and solutions to continue attracting businesses to become investors, gradually completing the infrastructure of industrial clusters, contributing to promoting the attraction of secondary investors to industrial clusters.

Responding to questions, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Tran Van Hao stated that the industrial clusters were decided to be established from small businesses. The province has only called for and assigned investors to 5 clusters, the remaining industrial clusters do not have investors. The limitations of these industrial clusters are that the infrastructure and centralized wastewater treatment system have not been treated.

Comrade Tran Van Hao has proposed many solutions to handle industrial clusters without investors. In particular, Comrade Tran Van Hao suggested considering and issuing preferential policies to attract investment in industrial clusters because current policies are not attractive enough.

Moderating the questioning, comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Duong province, requested the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade to urgently research and advise on support policies, attract investment, and handle industrial clusters that are operating but have no investors.

Policies that have been issued but have not attracted investment need to continue to be researched and new policies issued that are attractive enough to resolve this problem.

In particular, attention should be paid to two important issues: environment, wastewater treatment in industrial parks and investment in infrastructure and transportation inside and outside industrial parks, serving production, business activities and travel of workers.
