Students sentenced for resolving conflict with knives

On January 18, the People's Court of Kim Thanh District (Hai Duong) held a first-instance trial of defendant Ph.Tr.Kh. (born May 8, 2005, residing in Le Thien, An Duong, Hai Phong) and his accomplices for disturbing public order.

Ph.Tr.Kh. is a student in class 11B at Phu Thai High School (Kim Thanh). Due to a conflict with his classmates, Kh. invited Ng.V.Th, Ng.D.Đ (both born in 2005, classmates of Kh.), H.Th.B (born in 2006, student) and his social friends Ph.Q.Tr (born in 2005), Ph.TN, D.Tr.Đ (both born in 2006, residing in An Duong, Hai Phong) to fight.

At about 4:30 p.m. on April 26, 2022, at the 20.9 Square area in Phu Thai town (Kim Thanh), Ph.Tr.Kh. incited and informed Ph.Q.Tr, Ph.TN, D.Tr.Đ, H.Th.B to use metal pipes, swords, and knives to chase and beat a group of students who had a conflict with Kh. before. Kh.'s group rode motorbikes to chase and beat the other group of students, causing chaos in public places, negatively affecting security, order, and social safety in the locality.

At the trial, the defendants confessed their crimes. The Kim Thanh District People's Court sentenced Ph.Tr.Kh. to 22 months in prison, Ph.Q.Tr. to 21 months in prison; Ph.TN, D.Tr.Đ. each to 18 months in prison. The defendants Th and D. were sent to a reform school. The Kim Thanh District Police decided to administratively punish the defendant H.Th.B because he was not old enough to bear criminal responsibility.

Previously, after the incident, defendants Kh. and D. were temporarily suspended from Phu Thai High School for 1 year.
