A conflict occurred while drinking alcohol, 5 subjects in Gia Loc (Hai Duong) used knives, tongs, sticks, and glass bottles to chase and beat others.
Hai Duong City People's Court has just held a first-instance trial of 5 defendants for intentionally causing injury and disturbing public order.
At 1:30 a.m. on December 28, 2023, at a restaurant in Thach Khoi market kiosk, Thach Khoi ward (Hai Duong city), due to a conflict while drinking with Mr. LVH (born in 1985, in Gia Xuyen commune, Hai Duong city), the defendants from Gia Loc district, including: Le Xuan Hien (born in 1992, in Toan Thang commune), Nguyen Dinh Huy (born in 1999, in Gia Phuc commune), Pham Dinh Dinh (born in 2004, in Le Loi commune), Pham Van Hoai Son (born in 1994, in Toan Thang commune) and Vu Van Long (born in 1999, in Thong Nhat commune) used knives, tongs, sticks, and glass bottles to chase and beat Mr. H. As a result, Mr. H. suffered 38% health damage.
The incident has negatively affected the security and order situation in the area. The People's Committee of Thach Khoi Ward has requested the Investigation Police Agency (Hai Duong City Police) to handle the case.
In this case, Hien was the one who proposed and initiated the crime. The defendants Hien, Huy, and Dinh were the executors; Son and Long, accomplices, were the assistants.
Based on the nature, level and behavior of the case, the court sentenced the 5 defendants for the crime of intentionally causing injury and disturbing public order.
The jury sentenced Hien to 9 years in prison; Huy to 7 years and 1 month in prison; Dinh to 7 years and 6 months in prison; Son to 6 years and 6 months in prison; Long to 6 years and 6 months in prison.
According to the case file, 4 out of 5 defendants have been administratively punished. Of these, Hien has been administratively punished 4 times for violating regulations on public order, intentionally causing injury and destroying other people's property, and harming the health of others. Huy has been administratively punished twice for harming the health of others, throwing waste into other people's houses. Dinh has been administratively punished for gambling. Son has been administratively punished for harming the health of others.
