Da Lat City Police (Lam Dong Province) successfully rescued a 6-year-old kidnapped child and arrested Doan Van Den to investigate the act of illegal detention.
On October 20, information from Da Lat City Police (Lam Dong Province) said that they had just successfully rescued Nguyen Tr. Ph. A., 6 years old, a first grade student at Hung Vuong Primary School in Da Lat City.
Da Lat City Police also arrested Doan Van Den, 30 years old, residing in Dai Hai Commune, Ke Sach District, Soc Trang Province to investigate the act of illegal detention.
Previously, at around 6:00 p.m. on October 19, Ward 10 Police (Da Lat City) received a report from Ms. Nguyen TV (41 years old, from Quang Tri), temporarily residing on Suong Nguyet Anh Street (Da Lat City) reporting that Doan Van Den had illegally detained her son, Nguyen Tr. Ph. A., who was studying in grade 1 at Hung Vuong Primary School (Da Lat City).
After receiving the news, Da Lat City Police mobilized forces to block the city's entrances and exits; at the same time, coordinated with the Criminal Police Department (Lam Dong Provincial Police) to cordon off the area, arrest the subject and rescue the child.
When arriving at the Mimosa Pass area, the gateway to Da Lat City, the police force discovered a young man in a pink shirt driving a motorbike with license plate 49E1-192.36, with characteristics similar to those described by Ms. V., carrying a small child sitting in front, so the task force pursued him.
When chasing to Binh Yen alley, Khe Sanh street in Ward 10, this young man abandoned his motorbike, hugged baby A. and ran away. The task force chased to the garden of house number 25 Khe Sanh, then controlled and arrested Den.
According to initial information, Den and An's mother, Ms. Nguyen TV, residing in Ward 2, Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province, had a romantic relationship.
Recently, a conflict arose between Den and Ms. V. At around 2:00 p.m. on October 19, Den went to Ms. V.'s boarding house to drink alcohol, then beat her, causing injuries. Den took Ms. V.'s motorbike, cell phone, and about 1.3 million VND and left. Ms. V. was taken to the hospital by neighbors.
At around 3:40 p.m., Den rode his motorbike to Hung Vuong Primary School and told the music teacher that Den was A.'s father and that her mother had an accident, so he asked to let A. go home first. Seeing that A. and Den were friendly, the teacher let A. go home with her.
After picking up baby A., Den drove her down to Mimosa Pass with the intention of taking her far away. According to the police, Den had a previous conviction of 1 year and 6 months in prison for theft.
