Maintaining over 3,500 hectares of rice aims to ensure food security and develop the agricultural production strengths of Gia Loc (Hai Duong).
According to Gia Loc District People's Committee, by 2030 the district will maintain an agricultural land area of about 5,069 hectares, of which 3,522 hectares are rice fields and the rest are other types of agricultural land.
The district strictly protects the rice growing area of about 1,570 hectares and nearly 600 hectares of rice growing using high-value technology in the communes of Yet Kieu, Gia Tien, Pham Tran, Nhat Quang, Quang Duc, and Thong Kenh.
Prioritize the development of vegetable growing areas in the communes of Le Loi, Gia Phuc, Pham Tran, and Nhat Quang. Maintain fruit growing areas distributed in the areas of Pham Tran, Nhat Quang, and Gia Tien communes.
Building an aquatic ecological area combined with tourism with an area of about 176 hectares in Doan Thuong and Le Loi communes.
The district's aquaculture land area by 2030 will remain at 1,100 hectares. Large aquaculture areas are concentrated in Nhat Quang, Yet Kieu, and Hoang Dieu communes, applying scientific and technical advances to improve productivity, farming efficiency, and environmental protection in the direction of sustainable development.
Currently, Gia Loc district maintains a stable area of about 3,680 hectares of rice, over 1,000 hectares of crops, 1,200 hectares of aquaculture and 450 hectares of perennial crops. The value of agricultural land in 2024 of the district is expected to reach 249 million VND/ha.
