On the morning of June 3, nearly 800 candidates took the specialized subject exam for grade 10 at Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted in the 2024-2025 school year. Below are the notes of Hai Duong Newspaper reporters at Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted:

This year, nearly 800 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam at Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted to select 384 students. The school has 12 specialized classes, each class only admits 32 students. The English specialized class has the most registered candidates with 211 students; math 147 students; literature 87 students; chemistry 85 students; physics 81 students; biology 74 students; history 68 students; geography 40 students.
This year, candidates who won provincial-level excellent student awards in grade 9 will no longer receive bonus points to be considered for admission to specialized classes when taking the entrance exam to Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted. Hai Duong will no longer enroll in non-specialized classes in Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, but will instead add a specialized math class.
Thus, the school has 2 specialized math classes, the rest are specialized IT classes, English, French, Russian, literature, biology, physics, chemistry, history, geography. Candidates taking the specialized math exam can only choose to register for 1 of 2 wishes: specialized math class or specialized IT class. Candidates taking the specialized English exam can register for wishes in the following order: specialized English class, French class, Russian class.
Based on the wishes recorded on the exam registration form and exam results, the consideration of students admitted to grade 10 of Nguyen Trai High School for the 2024-2025 school year will be in the following order: specialized class, public high school (1st wish), public high school (2nd wish), private high school or educational institution implementing the high school continuing education program. Candidates who have been admitted to the previous wish will not be considered for the next wish.
Candidates applying to Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted register to take a maximum of 2 specialized subjects, not in the same exam session. The admission score is the total score of the common exams with non-specialized candidates: math (coefficient 1), literature (coefficient 1), English (coefficient 1) and the specialized subject exam (coefficient 3). In case candidates have the same admission score, the candidate will be selected in the following order of priority: with a higher specialized subject exam score; with a higher average specialized subject score in grade 9; with a higher average score of the final subjects in grade 9.
