Candidates at the exam site of Nam Sach High School left the exam room in an excited mood.

According to the Hai Duong Newspaper reporters at the testing sites in Hai Duong City, Thanh Ha and Nam Sach districts, many candidates left the testing sites early. Most of the candidates were very relaxed and confident because they had done the test. Many students commented that the English test was not too difficult, did not challenge students, and followed the study and review program, so candidates could easily get a score of 7 or higher. However, the test was still differentiated, and it was not easy to get a score of 8-9 or higher.

Like many other candidates in Hai Duong City, Bui Duy Minh Tan, a student from Tan Binh Secondary School, who is taking the exam to enter Hong Quang High School, confidently said that he will definitely get at least 9 points. Tan assessed that the test was not difficult, and if he had a firm grasp of the basic knowledge and carefully reviewed according to the teachers' instructions, he could easily get 6-7 points. However, the test still differentiated the foreign language proficiency of each student.

Doan Ngoc Ha, a student from Chu Van An Secondary School, took the exam to enter Thanh Ha High School, excited because she did the test. Ha said that the test was more differentiated and a bit more difficult than last year, but she was still confident that she could get a score of 9 or higher. To get a score of 10, students must have good vocabulary and grammar to solve the questions related to reading comprehension and choosing the sentence that has the same meaning as the original sentence.

The test was within the candidates' ability so many candidates could do it.

Vu Khanh Linh, a student from Nguyen Trai Secondary School who took the exam to enter Nam Sach High School, said that her test was relatively good and she scored over 9 points on her own. The test classifies the level of candidates. Average candidates can get 6-7 points in the parts of choosing the correct word/phrase to fill in the blank, identifying errors in sentences, and choosing the correct option to complete the conversation. The most difficult are the questions related to the writing section, which require a rich vocabulary and a bit of thinking.

Many secondary school English teachers assessed that the test was suitable for the candidates, so the average score range would be higher than last year. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, an English teacher at Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School (Thanh Mien) commented that the test closely followed the structure instructed by the Hai Duong Department of Education and Training, closely followed the knowledge of the textbook program and had clear differentiation. The test had 10 questions to differentiate students. With this test, students with average or above average academic ability could achieve 5-6 points. The score range would be from 6-8.5 points.

“However, to achieve a score of 9 or higher, students need to have a solid grasp of textbook knowledge, analyze the questions thoroughly, and have a rich vocabulary. There will be few 10s because there are some highly differentiated questions in the form of reading passages and vocabulary-related questions. To achieve a perfect score, students must have broad knowledge, be careful in thinking, analyze and write the questions, and have a rich vocabulary,” said Ms. Hanh.

Her child's academic ability is quite good, so she is not too worried. Her child just showed off that he did the test, so she is very happy. "Today I still have to go to work at the company, but I asked for leave to take my child to the exam. I encourage and create the most comfortable mentality for my child, cook delicious meals for him to ensure his health," Ms. Lan said.

According to the Hai Duong Department of Education and Training, on the first day of the exam, 21 students were absent without reason. There were no incidents in all examination councils; no candidates or officials in charge of organizing the exam violated the exam regulations.
