Tourism revenue increased sharply during Lunar New Year

According to statistics from the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, from the 29th to the 5th of Tet, Ninh Binh province is expected to welcome nearly 400,000 visitors, including nearly 30,000 international visitors. The impressive number of visitors marks a favorable start for Ninh Binh tourism in the new year.

A representative of the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism said that the weather in Ninh Binh during the Tet holidays is very favorable for tourists' spring trips. On average, during the Tet holidays, Ninh Binh welcomes from 45,000 visitors/day to over 110,000 visitors/day. The average room occupancy rate is from 60 to 65%, especially in the last 2 days of the Tet holiday, the room occupancy rate is from 75 to 80%. Tourism revenue is estimated at over 550 billion VND, including revenue from tourist attractions, accommodation revenue, restaurant revenue, transportation revenue, gift shopping and other revenue.

During Tet, visitors gather in large numbers at some typical areas and spots such as: Bai Dinh Mountain Pagoda Spiritual Tourism Area; Trang An Tourist Area, Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area; Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Thung Nham Bird Garden, Mua Cave, Phat Diem Stone Church, Hoa Lu Ancient Town.

Security, order, environmental sanitation, tourism civilization, disease prevention and control are ensured by all levels and sectors; there is no jostling, forcing customers, asking for tips, posting and selling goods and services at listed prices are strictly implemented... Ninh Binh tourism image is widely promoted and advertised; tourism businesses strictly comply with regulations on tourism business.

Tourist areas, destinations, and tourism service businesses have organized, prepared decorations, and built cultural and artistic programs to welcome visitors. The Department of Tourism presided over, with Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise, the ceremony to welcome the first visitors to Ninh Binh tourism at Trang An eco-tourism area on the first day of Tet.

During the Tet holidays, the Department of Tourism has also assigned the duty schedule during the Lunar New Year to the leaders of the Department, leaders of departments and units under the Department; increased the number of staff on duty at tourist support stations: Trang An, Tam Coc, Bai Dinh Pagoda, Hoa Lu Ancient Town, maintained hotlines to support tourists; increased inspection and control of the quality of tourism services at tourist areas, tourist attractions, tourist accommodation establishments, travel activities, tour guides... to promptly detect, correct and strictly handle violations; coordinated with departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities, Management Boards of tourist areas and attractions to ensure security, order, traffic safety, environmental sanitation and civilization at tourist areas and attractions. Can Tho tourism revenue estimated at 340 billion VND on Lunar New Year occasion

During the days from January 20 to 26 (from the 29th day of the Lunar New Year to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), the total number of visitors and tourists in Can Tho is estimated at about 370,000, an increase of 128% over the same period in 2022. Accommodation establishments are estimated to serve about 95,000 visitors, an increase of 265% over 2022, of which international visitors are estimated at about 2,900; the average room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments is about 82%. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 340 billion VND, an increase of 250% over 2022.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho, said that since January 2023, districts and tourist areas in Can Tho have paid special attention to environmental landscape work, building new products to welcome visitors. Specifically, tourist areas and spots have renovated landscapes, decorated flower gardens; organized programs, activities, and events to attract tourists; ensured environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety, security and order, fire prevention, and focused on service spirit and attitude. In addition, there are new tourism products that attract many visitors to visit, have fun, and experience at tourist areas such as: Phi Yen Tourist Area, Mekong Silk Tourism, Ong De Tourist Area, Ong Lang Street, Ong Chanh Street, Can Tho Flower Village, Long Tuyen - Binh Thuy Pink Grapefruit Garden, etc.

Ms. Dao Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, said that in order to ensure safe, friendly and quality tourism activities during the Lunar New Year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City has requested tourism businesses and tourist ports in the city to prepare facilities, arrange staff on duty, ensure tourism business conditions, publicly list prices, sell at listed prices and strictly comply with legal regulations in tourism business, in order to serve tourists well. This year, in addition to tourist sites, eco-tourism sites, orchards, historical and cultural relic sites also attract many visitors such as: Hung King Temple, Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery, Binh Thuy Ancient House, Ong Pagoda, etc.

In the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho will orient units to build and develop urban river ecotourism such as conference and exhibition tourism (MICE); focus resources on tourism development investment; support investment in upgrading infrastructure, service techniques and accommodation facilities, tourism services, dining areas, entertainment areas; strengthen cooperation in tourism development in a diverse way in the form of building value chain connections in tourism products. At the same time, pay attention to digital transformation to promote tourism promotion and marketing strategy of Can Tho.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau strives to ensure that people and tourists have a happy and safe Spring

Although the number of tourists to Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is always very crowded during the Lunar New Year (one and a half times higher than in 2022), traffic on the roads, especially National Highway 51, is very crowded, but the traffic police force is always present at the intersections to regulate traffic, so there is no congestion like in previous years.

According to the provincial police, during the 7 days of Tet, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province had 5 traffic accidents, including 2 accidents that killed 2 people and 3 collisions. Compared to the 2022 Lunar New Year, there were 9 fewer accidents (5/14 accidents), 8 fewer deaths (2/10), and 10 fewer injuries (2/12).

The on-duty, patrolling and controlling forces are always present in time to deter and handle situations, so the whole province only had 2 cases of social order violations with 4 subjects committing small-scale theft and property destruction, a decrease of 5 cases compared to Tet 2022.

There were no food poisoning cases in the province; restaurants and hotels posted their prices correctly and room and food prices only increased slightly compared to normal days. Tourist spots and streets were equipped with people and vehicles to collect trash promptly and cleanly, and there were almost no street vendors, solicitors, or stalkers.

Localities have also organized many activities for people and tourists to visit and admire. Typically, Vung Tau city organized an exhibition of cultural and artistic space week at Bai Truoc Park with a photo collection of 75 panels; an exhibition of ancient ceramics with more than 200 ancient ceramic artifacts from 30 collectors; an exhibition of bonsai, gemstones, and calligraphy including 300 bonsai, 1,000 gemstones, and 9 calligraphy booths... and many nightly music and art programs for people to enjoy.

According to the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, from January 22 to 26, 2023 (from the first to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year of Quy Mao), the whole province welcomed and served nearly 670,000 tourists, an increase of more than 59% compared to the previous year's Tet holiday, of which, about 157,000 guests stayed, nearly 10,700 international guests. Total revenue reached more than 538 billion VND, an increase of more than 50% over the same period last year. Vung Tau city is the locality that welcomed the largest number of visitors with 275,000 arrivals, an increase of more than 34%, revenue reached 236 billion VND, an increase of 131% over the same period in 2022.
