Along with checking in and taking souvenir photos, some residents also expressed regret that the building is about to be demolished.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong in Tay Ho district, Hanoi took advantage of the rush hour to go with her friends to the "Shark Jaw" building to take pictures in the beautiful weather. She said that as a resident of the capital, she has many memories with this building, so it is quite a pity to demolish it. However, she also agrees with "sacrificing" small benefits to expand public space for Hoan Kiem Lake.

Ms. Bao Anh in Hoan Kiem district said that the cafe on the top floor of this building is a gathering place for her and her friends every time they go on a date. Built in 1990, the "Shark Jaw" building is located on the site of the old tram station. This 6-storey building is considered to have the most beautiful location in the capital with the front facing Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and the left facing Hoan Kiem Lake.

The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District plans to demolish the "Shark Jaw" building before April 30. The estimated investment cost for the project to expand Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and demolish this building is about 18 billion VND.
