The Director of the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province said that the posting of signs prohibiting parking on even days is not actually wrong but rather mechanical. The department will issue a document requesting a reasonable adjustment.
Mr. Nguyen Van Gia, Director of the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province, said that he had received information that on a 1 km long road in Lac Lam commune (Don Duong district), there were up to 23 signs prohibiting parking on even-numbered days.
According to Mr. Gia, the placement of this sign is not actually wrong, but rather mechanical by the infrastructure management unit of the People's Committee of Don Duong district. The Department will issue a document requesting a reasonable adjustment.
"For this road section, just one sign prohibiting parking on even days and an additional sign clearly stating the 'valid length' is enough for drivers to understand," Mr. Gia informed.
In fact, this road section starts from Lac Lam Commune People's Committee and is about 1 km long, but there are 23 signs of the same type prohibiting parking on even days. The signs are placed 20 - 30 m apart, interspersed with 2 - 3 houses. The dense placement of these signs is due to the fact that the road section has many intersections with National Highway 20.
A resident living along this road shared that having too many signs makes it difficult to travel, shop and move around, especially for households selling agricultural products on the street front.
