The Petition Committee recommends that government agencies have solutions to stabilize prices and avoid a situation where salary increases cannot keep up with rising prices of goods.
The above content was mentioned by Head of the People's Petition Committee Duong Thanh Binh when presenting the report on people's petition work in February 2024 at the 31st session of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the afternoon of March 19.
Mr. Duong Thanh Binh said that voters and people highly appreciate the Government's issuance of many policies and solutions to restore and develop the socio-economy, ensure macroeconomic stability, control inflation, and social security.
"The Petition Committee recommends that the National Assembly Standing Committee request the Government and the Prime Minister to continue directing ministries, branches, and localities to have effective solutions to control inflation, stabilize market prices of goods... to avoid the situation where salary increases cannot keep up with inflation and increase prices of goods on the market," said the Head of the Petition Committee.
Referring to the contents of the reflection, Mr. Duong Thanh Binh stated that voters and people continue to express their concerns about the recent occurrence of many tragic traffic accidents that have killed and injured many people; the air pollution situation in big cities, especially Hanoi; the severe heat and lack of rainfall that has caused the risk of forest fires and lack of water for production in many places.
In addition, the scarcity of construction sand, insufficient supply for key national projects and other construction needs, has increased investment costs, greatly affecting the progress of construction works and projects; the complicated situation of illegal sand mining in Hanoi and some localities is also a concern for voters and the people.
In addition, voters and people are concerned about the situation of pets that have not been vaccinated against rabies and the lack of medicine, vaccines, equipment, and medical supplies at public health facilities.
According to Mr. Duong Thanh Binh, voters reported that currently, some patients have not been cured, but because their inpatient treatment period at medical facilities has expired according to health insurance regulations, they must complete discharge procedures, then be readmitted to the hospital for continued treatment. This regulation has caused difficulties for people when treating their illnesses...
The fact that the allowances for people with revolutionary contributions are transferred to bank accounts is causing difficulties for the elderly in traveling to withdraw money, especially the elderly living in ethnic minority areas, residing in mountainous areas, and remote areas, has also been reported by voters.
Regarding this content, Mr. Duong Thanh Binh proposed that the National Assembly Standing Committee request the Government and the Prime Minister to direct the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to consider and continue to pay cash to people with revolutionary contributions, especially the elderly living in ethnic minority areas, residing in mountainous, remote and isolated areas.
The Petition Committee also recommended that the National Assembly Standing Committee request the Government and the Prime Minister to direct the Ministry of Health to have effective solutions to ensure adequate medical supplies and equipment at public health facilities; At the same time, consider and adjust regulations on inpatient treatment time under Health Insurance appropriately to ensure convenience in medical examination and treatment for people.
