Former Secretary of Hoa Binh City Party Committee prosecuted for gambling

On August 7, Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, confirmed that the Security Investigation Agency had prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Ngo Ngoc Duc, former Secretary of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee, Hoa Binh Province, to clarify his gambling behavior.

Previously, the Organizing Committee of Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 2051 on information about the meeting of the Provincial Party Executive Committee.

Previously, on April 12, 2023, the Provincial Party Executive Committee and the Provincial Party Standing Committee met and agreed to let Mr. Ngo Ngoc Duc resign from the positions of Member of the Executive Committee of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee and the position of Secretary of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term according to his personal wishes, related to the responsibility of setting an example for the leader.

Mr. Ngo Ngoc Duc was born in 1974, hometown Hop Thanh commune, My Duc district, Hanoi. Mr. Duc has a university degree, majoring in Road and Bridge Construction; Bachelor of Politics, majoring in Organization.

Mr. Ngo Ngoc Duc held the position of Director of the Department of Construction of Hoa Binh province before becoming Secretary of the Hoa Binh City Party Committee.
