An "8X" teacher in Hai Duong won first prize in the National English e-lesson design contest.

With the lecture “Unit 12-Lesson 5: Skills 1, Grade 6”, teacher Pham Thi Nhan (born in 1988) is one of 23 contestants nationwide to win first prize. Teacher Nhan will receive 10 million VND in prize money.

Teacher Nhan has trained many students to win district and provincial awards for excellent students in English and gold, silver, bronze and encouragement awards at the national Internet English Olympic Competition (IOE). Phu Thai Secondary School is a key school in Kim Thanh district.

In addition, Hai Duong also has 1 second prize and 3 consolation prizes. Hai Duong Department of Education and Training is 1 of 5 units winning the movement prize.

After more than 3 months of launching, the Organizing Committee of the contest received 4,079 entries from contestants nationwide. Of which, Hai Duong province had 240 entries.

The Organizing Committee decided to award 248 individual prizes, including: 10 special prizes, 23 first prizes, 42 second prizes, 60 third prizes, 98 consolation prizes, 15 secondary prizes; 63 collective prizes, including: 1 gold prize, 2 silver prizes, 2 bronze prizes, 5 movement prizes, 53 digital transformation prizes. The total value of the prize is more than 2 billion VND. The award ceremony is expected to be held at the end of July 2024.

The English e-lesson design contest is organized by the Vietnam Education Publishing House in collaboration with the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The contest is held online to find and honor teachers and students with creative, high-quality e-lessons for English according to the general education program and applying advanced technology.

Contest products are designed according to the regulations on lesson planning of the Ministry of Education and Training. Contest products have 2 forms, including: English lessons designed for a lesson according to the Global Success English textbook series of the Vietnam Education Publishing House; English lessons through learning project activities designed for part or all of an English lesson. The duration is no more than 25 minutes for primary school and no more than 35 minutes for secondary school.
