On the morning of August 16, the Steering Committee for Judicial Reform of Hai Duong province organized an assessment of judicial reform work since the beginning of the year and identified key tasks until the end of the year, emphasizing the need to focus on professional training, expertise, and political theory for judicial staff.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Vu Tien Phung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, requested all levels and sectors to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party and State's documents on judicial reform, crime prevention and law violations.
Relevant agencies and local authorities need to review new legal documents that have come into effect to continue implementing them. Along with that, they need to pay attention to allocating human resources, focusing on professional training, expertise, and political theory for judicial staff.
The work of propaganda, dissemination and legal education also needs to continue to be promoted, innovated and made effective. The work of mediation and grasping the situation at the grassroots level needs to continue to be focused on in order to promptly detect incidents arising among the people early, and have effective measures to handle and resolve them.
Since the beginning of the year, the province's judicial agencies have closely coordinated and promptly resolved a large number of cases. The quality of case resolution has been improved, contributing to maintaining social order and stability, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development.
In the first 6 months of the year, the provincial police discovered 228 cases, 473 criminal offenders, the rate of investigation and discovery of cases reached 92.7%; discovered 300 cases, 362 criminals, violations of economic, corruption and position laws; arrested and handled 374 cases, 637 drug-related violations.
The People's Procuracy at two levels supervised the handling of 913 sources of information, supervised the arrest of 236 defendants for temporary detention; exercised the right to prosecute and supervise the investigation of 1,016 cases, 1,572 defendants, and determined 108 key cases.
The People's Courts at two levels of the province accepted and resolved 3,262 out of a total of 4,803 cases. The civil enforcement agencies of the province completed 3,313 cases, reaching more than 58.8%...
