According to information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, 6 Hanoi students participating in the 2023 International Junior Science Olympiad in Thailand all won medals, including 1 Silver medal and 5 Bronze medals.
The students of the team participating in the competition are all in 10th grade. The student who won the Silver Medal was Hoang Pham Minh Khanh, a student of Newton Secondary and High School; the remaining 5 members who won the Bronze Medal are all students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, including Hoang Ngoc Bach, Nguyen Tran Thao Nguyen, Mai Thanh Tung, Duong Dang Khoa and Nguyen Trong Nghia.
The 2023 International Junior Science Olympiad was held from December 1 to 10 in Thailand with the participation of 304 students from 54 countries and territories. The Organizing Committee awarded 182 medals to the winners; including 34 gold medals, 61 silver medals and 87 bronze medals.
The International Junior Science Olympiad was first held in 2004. The Hanoi student team participated in the competition for the first time in 2007. Every time they participated in the competition, the Hanoi student team won medals.
