On the evening of May 15, information from the Criminal Police Department, Dong Nai Provincial Police said that, regarding the arson of a rented room in the province, the authorities determined that two victims of the incident had died.

Accordingly, the victim BTN (43 years old, residing in Tan Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city) died on the morning of May 15 due to severe injuries. The victim was taken home by his family for burial.

Previously, on May 10, NVH (10 years old, son of Ms. N.) also died after a period of treatment at the hospital.

The third victim of the incident, Mr. NVA (48 years old, residing in Tan Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city, from Thai Binh province), Ms. N's husband, is in stable health.

Previously, at around 1:45 a.m. on April 23, while Mr. NVA's family was sleeping in a rented room in Tan Hoa ward, a subject poured gasoline into the room and set it on fire.

The fire was so sudden that all family members suffered severe burns and had to be transferred to hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City for emergency treatment.

After committing the crime, the suspect quickly fled. Using professional measures, Dong Nai Provincial Police quickly isolated, identified and arrested Bach Ngoc Minh (33 years old, residing in Trung Dung Ward, Bien Hoa City).

Working with the police, the subject confessed that due to a conflict in his relationship with his girlfriend (who used to live in the same boarding house as Mr. NVA and his wife), Minh brought gasoline to burn down his girlfriend's room. However, because it was dark, he mistakenly burned down Mr. NVA's room.

After the incident, Minh realized he had burned down the wrong room, so he continued to look for his girlfriend to resolve their emotional conflict. At the time of his arrest, Minh was using his Facebook account to send threatening messages to his girlfriend’s sister.

Bach Ngoc Minh is a dangerous criminal with 4 previous convictions for disturbing public order, intentionally causing injury and stealing property.

To successfully capture the subject and prevent him from continuing to commit crimes, Department PC02 established a working group with many reconnaissance teams coordinating with other units to carry out tasks 24/7 to quickly arrest Minh and protect the safety of his girlfriend's family.
