On September 23, the leader of the People's Committee of Hau Loc district (Thanh Hoa) said that information about dike breaks and deep flooding posted on social networks was false information.
It is known that on the morning of the same day, information and images appeared on Facebook reflecting that the dike through Phong Loc commune (Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province) was broken and flooded deeply.
According to the leader of Hau Loc District People's Committee, the flooded area is the outer road of the field outside the dike, every time it rains heavily, the river water often overflows.
According to the report, due to the impact of heavy rain, the water level of Len River exceeded alarm level 2, affecting many households along the dike in Thuan Loc, Phong Loc, and Quang Loc communes, with water flooding into fields and residential areas.
After checking and gathering information, Hau Loc district evacuated more than 100 households from the dangerous area to a safe place.
According to the report of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Thanh Hoa province, due to the impact of storm No. 4, on September 22-23, this locality had heavy rain combined with water from the upper Laos region flowing in, causing many large rivers such as: Ma River, Chu River, Buoi River, Cau Chay River... to rise, in some places exceeding alert level 2.
Currently, Thanh Hoa province's authorities have issued many telegrams warning of floods on rivers so that localities can prepare plans for dike protection and evacuation.
