Lebanon's Health Ministry said on September 7 that three of its medical workers were killed and two others were injured in an Israeli attack while they were extinguishing a fire in the southern Lebanese town of Faroun.

“Israeli forces targeted a group of Lebanese Civil Defense forces while they were responding to fires caused by recent Israeli airstrikes,” the Lebanese Health Ministry said in a statement.

At the same time, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said that this was an Israeli attack on the official Lebanese state apparatus and the second such attack on an emergency team in less than 12 hours.

The Israeli military has not commented on information related to the incident.

On the same day, Hezbollah forces in Lebanon announced that they had fired several rockets in response at the headquarters of Israel's 91st Division, the unit responsible for the country's northern border.

The intensity of fighting between Hezbollah and Israel has escalated, forcing tens of thousands of people on both sides of the Lebanon-Israel border to abandon their homes to find safe shelter.
