Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chien moved things to dismantle thousands of square meters of illegal construction on agricultural land in Kinh Mon.

According to Mr. Luu Huu Nhan, Chairman of Quang Thanh Commune People's Committee, Mr. Chien's family has initially fulfilled their commitment to dismantle the above illegal construction. However, due to the large amount of household items, Mr. Chien's family had to start by moving their belongings. According to the commitment, his family will complete the dismantling by May 31 at the latest. Mr. Nhan said that the local government continues to propagate and mobilize Mr. Chien's family to complete the dismantling ahead of schedule and is ready to cooperate in terms of human resources and machinery.

On the evening of April 5, Vietnam National Assembly Television broadcast a report “Hai Duong: Lax land management”, reflecting the situation of households arbitrarily changing land use purposes, building mansions and villas on agricultural land, encroaching on irrigation corridor land in Quang Thanh commune. Notably, Mr. Chien's large and beautiful house on an area of ​​over 5,000 m² stands out. In this commune, there are nearly 100 other constructions illegally built on agricultural land, 80 constructions illegally built on irrigation corridors.

On the evening of April 5, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee directed the Kinh Mon Town People's Committee to verify and thoroughly handle the above violations. During 2 days, from April 6-7, the leaders of the Kinh Mon Town Party Committee and People's Committee went to the scene to inspect and direct specialized departments and agencies, and the Quang Thanh Commune People's Committee to make a plan to handle violations in the fields of land and irrigation works corridors in the commune.

According to Mr. Truong Duc San, Chairman of Kinh Mon Town People's Committee, the violation of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chien's family was reported by some newspapers since September 2023. After that, the Town People's Committee directed to handle the violation. Mr. Chien's family also committed to dismantling the construction before June 2024. However, immediately after the National Assembly Television reported the news, receiving instructions from the provincial leaders, Kinh Mon Town People's Committee resolutely handled the violation before June 2024.

In addition to Mr. Chien's family's project, the Chairman of Kinh Mon Town People's Committee requested specialized departments and offices to review all projects violating the irrigation corridor land throughout the town for strict and decisive handling.

Mr. Chien's house was built in early 2020. After discovering that Mr. Chien's family dug the foundation and built a solid house on agricultural land, the People's Committee of Quang Thanh commune imposed an administrative fine of 4 million VND. At that time, the People's Committee of Quang Thanh commune requested Mr. Chien to restore the land to its original condition within 10 days from the date of receiving the decision. However, Mr. Chien continued to use a 2-storey container. On the house foundation 14.7 m long, 9.5 m wide, 0.5 m high, Mr. Chien also built a 2-storey house made of xoan wood, with an area of ​​about 140 m². In addition, Mr. Chien also built an auxiliary structure 12 m long, 4 m wide, 2.5 m high with a foundation structure, brick walls, corrugated iron roof and some other auxiliary structures such as a garage, a drinking hut, a koi fish pond, a gate yard, etc.
