On the morning of August 18, the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to organize a Forum on preventing and reducing child labor and protecting and improving skills for young workers.
370 union officials in the province attended the forum.
At the forum, lecturer Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vietnam Youth Academy, informed that in 2018, our country had over 1 million child laborers, of which 519,805 children were doing heavy and hazardous work. Although there are specific regulations on working time and conditions for child laborers, in reality there are still many shortcomings that affect both the physical and mental development of children. Therefore, preventing and reducing child labor is the responsibility of the whole society, trade unions and employers.
