According to statistics from market research firm Counterpoint, Apple maintained its dominance with four positions in the top 10 best-selling smartphones. Of which, the iPhone 15 version ranked first with 4.1% market share, followed by 15 Pro Max 3.7%, 15 Pro 3.1%, and iPhone 14 appeared in 6th place. This shows the long-term appeal and taste of users for Apple smartphones.

Samsung has the most models ranked on the list with 5 positions. However, only the Galaxy S24 Ultra belongs to the high-end segment and is ranked 9th. The other positions belong to the mid-range and low-cost Galaxy A, with the A15 5G and A15 4G ranked 4th and 5th, the A55 ranked 7th and the bottom of the list is the Galaxy A05.

Samsung’s success is attributed to its balance between high-end and mid-range smartphones. This approach ensures that its smartphones reach a wide range of buyers, thereby maintaining its number one position in an increasingly competitive market.

Xiaomi is the only Chinese brand to have a product on the list with the Redmi 13C 4G in eighth place and a 1.5% market share.

Counterpoint's statistics also show that users' smartphone preferences are changing. The current market is more diverse and fragmented, distributed across many types of smartphones.

Consumer trends are still focused on high-end smartphones, but the presence of the Galaxy A05 and A15 4G along with the Redmi 13C 4G shows that 4G phones still have prospects in the near future. The price of 4G smartphones has dropped significantly, making them more accessible to many users, especially in markets like Africa and India. Therefore, brands that cater to multiple consumer segments from low-end to high-end will be able to capture a better market share.
