1,000 athletes participate in Vietnam-China cross-border race

On December 3, in Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh), the first International Friendship Exchange Run 2023 took place for the first time within the framework of the 15th Vietnam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair 2023 (Mong Cai, Vietnam - Dongxing, China).

The program attracts about 1,000 athletes from businesses, organizations, and individuals from Vietnam, China, and ASEAN countries aged 15 and over.

The athletes ran across the border, starting from Mong Cai (Vietnam) to Dongxing (China) and returning to the Mong Cai International Border Gate demarcation line with a distance of 10km.

The 2023 International Friendship Run is a special race, on a special running route, held for the first time.

The program spreads and promotes the spirit of sports, together exercising, discovering one's own limits through conquering running distances, contributing to promoting the exchange of sports activities between the two localities of Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China).

Vice Chairwoman of Mong Cai City People's Committee Nguyen Thu Huong said that every year the city participates in nearly 20 provincial-level sports tournaments and organizes over 20 city-level tournaments.

Besides, the city always pays attention to coordinating cultural, sports and exchange activities between the people of the two localities of Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China).

The running program aims to enhance communication, connection and experience exchange between Vietnamese runners and athletes from China and ASEAN countries.
