Introducing Vietnam - China International Trade and Tourism Fair

On the afternoon of November 2, in Can Tho City, the People's Committee of Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh Province), the People's Government of Dongxing City (Guangxi Province, China), and the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City jointly organized the 15th Vietnam - China International Trade and Tourism Fair 2023.

Accordingly, the 15th Vietnam - China International Trade and Tourism Fair (Mong Cai - Dongxing) will take place from November 30 to December 4, 2023 in Mong Cai city with a scale of 400 booths, including 300 booths of Vietnamese enterprises and 100 booths of Chinese enterprises. The fair displays, introduces and promotes strong products, promotes investment projects, import-export services, and tourism of Vietnam and China to domestic and foreign investors, businesses, and tourists.

According to Mr. Ho Quang Huy, Chairman of Mong Cai City People's Committee (Quang Ninh Province), the fair is one of the largest international trade events in the key economic region of the North of Vietnam. This is a practical opportunity for manufacturers, businesses, and investors from Vietnam and China to meet, exchange experiences, transfer technology, and cooperate in investment so that Vietnamese enterprises can affirm their brands with international partners.

Chairman of Mong Cai City People's Committee Ho Quang Huy said that Mong Cai City has been actively coordinating with Dong Hung City to prepare the best conditions for a fair with many good results.

At the conference, Mr. Li Jian, Mayor of the People's Government of Dongxing City (Guangxi Province, China) said that Mong Cai and Dongxing are two gateway cities with the most distinct cultural exchanges on the Vietnam - China border. The two cities are only separated by a river, with a bustling flow of people, with the number of people entering and exiting between the two border gates reaching more than 12 million per year.

As for tourists, in recent years, there have been more than 9,200 tourist groups from Vietnam entering China through Dongxing border gate with a total number of more than 130,000 visitors. The two sides have successfully organized 14 Vietnam-China international trade and tourism fairs, attracting tens of thousands of tourists and businesses to participate each year.

Mr. Li Jian said that Dongxing is focusing on building a model national-level modernized agricultural zone, and is piloting a number of models such as white-leg shrimp farming. Mr. Li Jian invited Vietnamese businesses and partners to join in cooperation to bring new benefits to cross-border trade activities.

Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, Ha Vu Son, said that the fact that Mong Cai City and Dong Hung City chose Can Tho as the venue for the 15th Vietnam-China International Trade and Tourism Fair is a great opportunity for businesses in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam to connect with Quang Ninh Province and Dong Hung City, opening up new opportunities in export activities.

This is also an opportunity for businesses in the Mekong Delta with businesses in Quang Ninh province and Dong Hung city to exchange, learn, and understand each other's import and export needs to move towards connecting trade and cooperating for mutual development.

The opening ceremony of the fair is expected to be attended by over 300 delegates; including 90 foreign business delegates and 240 domestic business delegates. Within the framework of the fair, there will be a forum connecting agricultural, forestry and fishery exports and a forum promoting border tourism through the Mong Cai - Dong Hung border gate pair. In addition, there will be singing and dancing programs on the border river at the Bac Luan river junction, a street art and cultural festival at the walking street of Tran Phu ward, Mong Cai city; the Mong Cai international golf tournament, and the international friendship exchange race from Bac Luan 1 border gate to Bac Luan 2 border gate.
