Yamaha MT-09 push-button gearshift launched in Southeast Asia

Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT 2025 launched in Thailand, price 15,200 USD

Japanese motorcycle brand Yamaha launched the new MT-09 at an exhibition in Thailand, its first market in Southeast Asia. The new 900cc motorcycle is equipped with an electronic clutch system for the first time, with a push-button gear shift instead of a kick-shifter. Yamaha calls it Y-AMT (Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission).

The Y-AMT eliminates all conventional clutches and gear levers and replaces them with integrated buttons on the handlebar cluster. The new gearbox technology allows the selection of AT (automatic) or MT (manual or manual) driving modes with a button on the right handlebar. This new clutch weighs 2.8 kg more than the traditional one.

MT-09 2025 is no different from the old version launched at the end of 2023 in appearance, the only difference is the new clutch. The vehicle is equipped with LED headlights. The mask has a rugged design, typical of Yamaha. Digital dashboard.

Other standard equipment includes upside-down front shock absorbers and a single rear shock absorber. Disc brakes on both wheels with a pair of 298 mm discs on the front wheel and a single 245 mm disc on the rear wheel. The brakes are integrated with a dual-channel ABS anti-lock braking system. A pair of 17-inch cast rims, with 120/70 front tires and 180/55 rear tires.

MT-09 2025 is equipped with a 3-cylinder engine, real capacity of 890 cc, capacity of 117 horsepower, maximum torque of 93 Nm.

Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT is sold in Thailand for 15,200 USD.
