Yamaha launches LEXi 2024 in Vietnam on June 6

On June 6, Japanese motorcycle brand Yamaha introduced LEXi to the Vietnamese market. LEXi is a new name joining Yamaha's scooter product line, targeting male customers who like to travel on long journeys.

LEXi has the design of a long-distance scooter with a low sitting position and high handlebars. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a 155cc engine. The Japanese car company equipped LEXi with LED headlights and blue position lights. The saddle is newly designed with a height of 768 mm, the footrest is flat and wide. The taillight cluster has LED brake lights. Halogen front/rear turn signals.

Features and utilities on LEXi such as LCD cluster displaying full vehicle information, or notifications from the phone when connected via Y-Connect. Smart locking system. Front storage compartment with integrated charging port. Under-seat storage compartment can hold a 3/4 helmet.

LEXi footrest is spacious and flat

The rookie LEXi has dimensions of length x width x height of 1,968 x 719 x 1,138 mm, wheelbase of 1,353 mm. Ground clearance of 135 mm, weight of 118 kg. This size is slightly larger than Vario 160, Honda's scooter model is 1,929 x 678 x 1,088 mm, wheelbase of 1,278 mm, ground clearance of 138 mm, weight of 117-118 kg.

LEXi is equipped with a BlueCore 155 VVA engine, single cylinder, 155cc capacity, liquid cooled, electronic fuel injection, capacity of 15 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, maximum torque of 14.2 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Fuel consumption is 2.19 liters/100 km mixed road.

The engine of the Vario 160 competitor produces 15 horsepower at 8,500 rpm, torque of 14.1 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The fuel consumption of the Honda model is 2.2 liters/100 km.

LEXi equipped with 155 VVA engine

LEXi 14-inch rims come with tubeless tires with 90/90 front tire and 100/90 rear tire. Safety equipment includes single disc brake with integrated ABS and rear drum brake.

According to plan, Yamaha LEXi will be sold in the Vietnamese market from June 21 with two versions, including Standard priced at 48.5 million VND and Premium priced at 48.9 million VND.

Previously, Yamaha sold a similar model called NMax. Honda had the PCX but stopped selling it. Currently, with the same engine capacity and price, Honda Vietnam has the Vario 160 with 4 versions, including Standard priced at 51.99 million, Premium 52.49 million, Special 55.99 million, Sport 56.49 million.
