Mr. NVT (74 years old) and Mrs. D.T.D. (62 years old) in Pham Xa village, Ngoc Son commune (Hai Duong city) were bitten many times by their family's dog on their arms, legs, and chest.
On July 12, Mr. T. and his wife went to the vaccination room of the Hai Duong Province Center for Disease Control to get vaccinated against rabies.
Mr. T. said that a month before, a Chinese man brought a dog weighing about 16 kg to rent a location in Ngoc Son commune to produce plastic toys. When he arrived at the factory, he brought the dog with him, but the factory landlord did not allow him to raise the dog. Feeling sorry, Mr. T.'s daughter asked to raise the dog. Every day, Mr. T.'s family still fed the dog normally and kept it chained.
On July 9, Mr. T.'s wife was feeding the dog when she was bitten three times on the arm. On July 11, the dog slipped off the leash, and Mr. T. bent down to the leash and was attacked by the dog, bitten seven times on the chest, arms, and legs with many deep, wide bites. Mr. T.'s family is currently monitoring the dog carefully to prevent rabies.
Recently, in Hai Duong province, there have been many cases of people being bitten by dogs and having to get rabies vaccinations. Most recently, in Chi Linh city, a man who subjectively did not get a rabies vaccination after being bitten by a strange dog developed rabies and died.
