Consider investment policy for Logistics Center, inland waterway port worth nearly 1,400 billion VND in Ninh Giang

On the morning of October 17, comrade Luu Van Ban, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province chaired the regular October meeting (5th time) of the Provincial People's Committee to review and resolve a number of contents and reports reported by the Departments of Planning and Investment, Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, Natural Resources and Environment; People's Committees of Kim Thanh, Nam Sach districts and Hai Duong city.

The Provincial People's Committee basically agreed with the report of the Department of Planning and Investment on the proposal for the investment project to build the logistics center and inland waterway port in Ninh Giang. The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Luu Van Ban, requested that the project dossier clarify the connection between the logistics center and inland waterway port with the province's general traffic infrastructure. Because the project uses a part of the land outside the dike, it is necessary to calculate and assess the impact on flood drainage and dike works according to the provisions of law.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Luu Van Ban directed the Department of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with the Ninh Giang District People's Committee and relevant departments and branches to continue reviewing the necessity of implementing the project, ensuring that the project's objectives are consistent with the general planning of Hong Phuc commune and the planning of Ninh Giang district.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, Vietnam National Shipping Lines proposed to invest in building a logistics center and Ninh Giang inland waterway port to meet the needs of transportation, loading, storage, and distribution of goods in the area. At the same time, it will build a multimodal transport hub, creating favorable conditions to attract investors.

The project covers an area of ​​nearly 27 hectares in Hong Phuc commune (Ninh Giang) with a capacity of 3 million tons of goods/year. The total investment capital of the project is nearly 1,400 billion VND, with an operating period of 50 years from the date of investment policy approval. If approved, the project is expected to complete site clearance in the third quarter of 2024 and start construction in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Logistics center, Ninh Giang inland waterway port provides multimodal transport services for industrial parks, industrial clusters in Ninh Giang district and neighboring areas; warehousing, storage of goods, loading and unloading, transportation by waterway, road; customs clearance; maintenance, repair of containers, means of transport, etc.
