The management unit did not detect any fault at the traffic light pole and is working with the police to clarify the suspicion that the car was equipped with an interference device, causing the green light to turn on wherever the car went.
On January 4, Mr. Luu Van Tan, Director of Thu Duc City Technical Infrastructure Development Center, said that immediately after the clip "Audi car goes wherever the green light is on" went viral on social networks, the center quickly took action to verify the incident.
"The unit sent staff to the traffic light locations under management for a general inspection. The results showed that the checkpoints had no technical errors and the traffic light signals were operating normally," said Mr. Tan.
With the content in the clip showing the traffic lights jumping around, the Audi car going from red to green, the Director of the Center for Technical Infrastructure Development of Thu Duc City gave an initial assessment.
"If the clip has not been edited, it is very likely that the interference device was installed on the vehicle to control the traffic lights. Regarding this issue, we are coordinating with Thu Duc City Police to check and clarify," Mr. Tan added.
The Director of the Thu Duc City Technical Infrastructure Development Center added that the incident of a car's signal jumping randomly and turning green is the first time it has happened in Ho Chi Minh City.
A representative of the Traffic Police - Order Team of Thu Duc City Police (Ho Chi Minh City) informed that the unit is still coordinating with relevant functional forces to verify and clarify the content of the clip that is "causing a storm" on social networks.
Previously, on January 3, a clip was circulated on social media showing a blue Audi car driving on the road. Notably, when the car approached the traffic lights, the traffic lights suddenly jumped and turned green even though there were still many seconds left on the red light. After the Audi passed, the traffic lights immediately turned red.
According to verification, the routes and intersections this Audi car passed through belong to Thu Duc City such as Phan Van Dang Street, Truong Van Bang Street (section in front of Thu Duc City People's Committee)...
