A tutor in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) was accused of beating a student, causing many injuries, at an unlicensed tutoring facility.
On June 29, the leader of the People's Committee of Phuoc Hoa Ward, Nha Trang City, informed that the locality had received a complaint from a parent about her son (a first-grade student) being beaten by a teacher.
Initially, the ward coordinated with local police to inspect Ms. HP’s teaching facility on Chuong Duong Street (Phuoc Hoa Ward) and worked with this person after receiving feedback from parents. Accordingly, Ms. HP’s childcare facility was not licensed by the competent authority.
Ms. LQP - the child's mother, said that because her son was slow to learn, she went online to find a summer class. Then, she sent her son to Ms. HP's class. When her son returned home, she discovered that he was bleeding from the mouth, had a black butt, and had a head injury.
She asked and the child said that Ms. HP had beaten him with a wooden stick because he did not know his lesson. “I reported it to the police and had the child’s injuries assessed. Only now has Ms. HP called to apologize and said she would return the money for the two days the child had not studied,” Ms. Phuong said. The mother expressed her desire for the authorities to investigate the matter.
Regarding the above incident, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Nha Trang City said they are contacting the ward authorities to grasp the situation and have appropriate handling directions.
