On the afternoon of March 4, Mr. Le Quang Huy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Dinh City, Nam Dinh Province, said that the city had requested Thanh Binh An Lac Vien Joint Stock Company and My Thuan Commune to report the incident in which people accused the cremation company of not allowing the deceased's family to bring in coffins from outside to hold the ashes after cremation, but forcing them to buy them from the company at a high price.

The People's Committee of Nam Dinh City requested Thanh Binh An Lac Vien Joint Stock Company, My Thuan Commune, to verify whether the clips being circulated on social networks actually happened at the company's display and sale store of urns and coffins; to review the content of the clips to see if they are consistent with the business registration certificate and service price list as prescribed; and to request the Company to send a report to the City People's Committee before 11:00 a.m. on March 5.

Previously, on social networks, many clips appeared reflecting that Thanh Binh An Lac Vien Joint Stock Company did not allow the families of the deceased to bring coffins or urns from outside into the company to display the ashes after cremation, but the company forced the families of the relatives to buy coffins or urns from the company that were being sold in the houses on the premises at prices higher than the market price.

In particular, the staff here also suggested that if relatives want to get beautiful bones for the deceased, they must pay an additional 3.5 million VND for service fees.

In the clip, people also reported that more than a year ago, the cremation price was 3.5 million VND and relatives could bring in coffins or urns of ashes with the condition of paying an additional 900,000 VND, but now the company does not allow bringing in coffins or urns of ashes, people are forced to buy there at the lowest price of nearly 10 million VND.

Furthermore, the initial cremation service contract was 4.5 million VND, but when arriving to sign the contract, the consultant only advised the price of 8 million and 10 million VND to force people to buy high-priced packages.

The clips shared on social networking platforms have attracted special attention from public opinion in Nam Dinh province.

Previously, Thanh Binh Universal Cremation Station (Thanh Binh An Lac Vien Joint Stock Company) was managed and operated by Hoang Long Funeral Service Joint Stock Company. However, due to many violations of the law, many leaders and employees of the company were prosecuted and imprisoned for the following crimes: Forging documents of agencies and organizations; Violating regulations on land use; Extortion of property in the field of cremation services in Nam Dinh.
