Lai Vu commune meets model new rural standards

Lai Vu is the third locality of Kim Thanh district to achieve model new rural standards in 2023.

Comrade Pham Thi Dao, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Duong province, presented the decision to recognize the commune as meeting the model new rural standards to the leaders of Lai Vu commune.

On the afternoon of November 15, Lai Vu commune (Kim Thanh) announced the decision to achieve the model new rural commune standards in 2023.

This is the third locality of Kim Thanh district to achieve the model new rural standard in 2023.

After completing the goal of building an advanced new rural area in 2020, in 2021, Lai Vu commune started building a model new rural area. Since then, the commune has mobilized more than 22 billion VND to complete the criteria. Of which, the state budget is over 5 billion VND; the commune budget is over 1.2 billion VND; the people contribute 5.5 billion VND and nearly 11 billion VND from combined capital sources and other capital sources.

In particular, in building a model new rural area, the commune has mobilized and propagated people to contribute over 2,000 working days and donate over 200 m²land for rural traffic improvement

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Tuyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of Kim Thanh District Party Committee, presented funding to support the construction of a model new rural area of the district to a representative of Lai Vu commune.

In building a new model rural area, Lai Vu commune has chosen education as a prominent field. From 2021 to present, the commune has invested in building and completing the facilities of all 3 schools. Currently, all 3 schools have met national standards, of which the kindergarten has met level 1 standards; the primary and secondary schools have met national standards level 2.

Currently, 100% of the villages in the commune maintain the title of cultural village, 4/4 agencies are annually recognized as cultural agencies and units. The rate of people participating in health insurance is over 95%. The rate of poor households is 0.73%. The average income per capita is over 75 million VND/year...

On this occasion, the Steering Committee of the national target program on new rural construction in Kim Thanh district allocated 5 billion VND to support Lai Vu commune to complete and improve the criteria of a model new rural area.

Chairman of Kim Thanh District People's Committee commended 3 collectives and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement to build model new rural areas.

Up to now, Kim Thanh district has 3 communes meeting the model new rural standards: Kim Anh, Co Dung, Lai Vu. In 2024, the district strives to have 2 more communes: Dong Cam and Kim Dinh reaching the model new rural standards; the district reaching the advanced new rural standards.
