Co Dung is one of the first three communes of Kim Thanh district (Hai Duong) to meet the model new rural standards in 2023.
On the morning of November 9, Co Dung commune (Kim Thanh) held an announcement ceremony for the decision to achieve the model new rural commune standards in 2023.
From 2021 to present, Co Dung commune has mobilized more than 40 billion VND to build a model new rural area. Of which, the people, philanthropists, and businesses alone supported nearly 13 billion VND to upgrade, expand, and asphalt nearly 2 km of rural roads. In addition, dozens of households in the commune also voluntarily donated hundreds of square meters of land to expand roads. Co Dung commune is one of the leading localities in Kim Thanh district in completing and developing the rural and intra-field traffic system.
In 2024, the commune's estimated average income per capita is 79.83 million VND; the poverty rate is 0.68%, and the near-poor rate is 1.52%. Political security and social order and safety are guaranteed. Currently, 90% of households in the commune are covered by fiber optic Internet; 95% of people of working age use smartphones; 100% of village cultural houses have free wifi; all three-way and four-way intersections in the commune are installed with security cameras... All three schools meet national standards.
On this occasion, the Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in Kim Thanh district allocated 5 billion VND to support Co Dung commune to complete and improve the criteria.
Chairman of Kim Thanh District People's Committee commended 3 collectives and 5 individuals of Co Dung commune for their outstanding achievements in the movement to build model new rural areas.
Up to now, Kim Thanh district has 3/17 communes meeting the model new rural standards; 10/17 communes meeting the advanced new rural standards. In 2024, the district assigned Tuan Viet commune to reach the advanced new rural standard; Kim Dinh and Dong Cam communes to reach the model new rural standard. In 2024, Kim Thanh district strives to achieve the advanced new rural district (currently meeting 7/9 criteria).
