Dan Chu is the only commune in Tu Ky district (Hai Duong) with a winter potato growing area linked to product consumption.
In the 2024 winter crop, Dan Chu commune (Tu Ky) has 21.5 hectares of potatoes participating in the product consumption chain, accounting for nearly 22% of the total potato area of Tu Ky district.
The Agricultural Service Cooperative of Dan Chu Commune cooperates with enterprises to support nearly 20 households participating in the linkage model with seeds, fertilizers, and product output. This is the third consecutive year the commune has implemented this model.
The joint venture also supports spraying pesticides by drones for potato areas that are contracted in the commune. This method helps save 30% of pesticides and 90-95% of water usage.
In the winter crop of 2023, in the potato growing area in Dan Chu, the average yield is 13-15 tons of tubers/ha, 3-4 tons/ha higher than other growing areas. After deducting costs, farmers earn a profit of 80-100 million VND/ha.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tu Ky district, this winter crop, the whole district planted more than 100 hectares, concentrated in the communes of Dan Chu, Nguyen Giap, and Ha Ky.
