Wuling Bingo EV is expected to jump into the small electric vehicle segment in Vietnam this coming June or July.
According to some dealer sales consultants, Wuling Bingo EV may be available for sale in Vietnam around June or July 2024. However, this is only a tentative schedule, there has been no official announcement from the distributor.
Meanwhile, on the homepage of SGMW (SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture), an article has just been posted about the upcoming Wuling Bingo EV 2024 coming to Vietnam.
Previously, the distributor also shared plans to bring Wuling Bingo EV to Vietnam. This electric vehicle model is popular with Indonesian users and has achieved good sales. Only sold since late 2023, by early 2024, Bingo has become the best-selling electric vehicle model in the country.
Wuling Bingo EV is much larger than the Mini EV currently sold in Vietnam. This model has a hatchback shape but is almost as tall as the Toyota Raize. In terms of electric vehicles, its size is comparable to the VinFast VF 5 with overall dimensions of 3,950 x 1,708 x 1,580 (mm) and a wheelbase of 2,560mm.
Wuling Bingo EV does not follow the square design direction like its "younger brother" Mini EV. The car has a much rounder shape. Wuling has a 5-door design (counting 1 rear trunk door), front and rear lights are all LED, and the rims are only 14 inches. This is a minus point compared to VinFast VF 5, because the Vietnamese electric car model uses 17-inch rims.
The Wuling Bingo EV's interior is more modern than the Mini EV's with two screens, including a 7-inch screen behind the steering wheel and a 10.25-inch center screen. Some notable features include an electric driver's seat, automatic air conditioning, push-button start, and an electronic parking brake.
It is not yet clear whether Wuling Bingo EV will come to Vietnam with 2 configurations like other markets. One configuration uses a 31.9kWh battery, traveling about 333km when fully charged. The higher configuration uses a 37.9kWh battery, traveling about 410km when fully charged. This version allows fast charging from 30 - 80% in just about 35 minutes.

Wuling Bingo EV sold in Indonesia is priced from 107,141 ringgit (about 575 million VND). Therefore, the selling price in Vietnam is unlikely to be below 500 million VND. Meanwhile, with the battery rental policy, VinFast VF 5 has a version below this mark. Specifically, VinFast VF 5 is priced at 468 million (battery rental) and 548 million VND (battery purchase).
However, the standard Wuling Bingo EV can fall under 500 million VND if the equipment is simplified.
