VinFast VF 3 and Wuling MiniEV - Which is the small electric car for Vietnamese customers?

1. Dimensions of VinFast and Wuling MiniEV

VinFast VF 3 and Wulig MiniEV are both in the small electric car segment, but in terms of size, there are quite clear differences.

Wuling MiniEV only has the corresponding LxWxH parameters of 2,920 x 1,493 x 1,621 mm, with a wheelbase length of 1,940 mm.

Meanwhile, VinFast VF 3 has the corresponding numbers of 3,114 x 1,673 x 1,567 mm and a wheelbase of 2,075 mm.

VinFast VF 3 and Wuling MiniEV both have neat designs and diverse youthful colors.

Not only that, the ground clearance of VinFast VF 3 is also higher at 191 mm while Wuling MiniEV only has a ground clearance of 125 mm.

These figures show that the VinFast VF 3 will have a more spacious interior and a more secure ground clearance compared to the Wuling MiniEV.

But in return, the Wuling MiniEV will be a bit more flexible when traveling in crowded streets.

2. Engine power

Wuling MiniEV and VinFast VF 3 are both equipped with only one electric motor but have quite a clear difference in power.

Specifically, VinFast VF 3 can produce a maximum capacity of 42 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque, while Wuling MiniEV only has a maximum capacity of 26.8 horsepower and torque of only 85 Nm.

This will allow the VinFast VF 3 to deliver a more powerful driving experience. In addition, both models are equipped with rear-wheel drive.

VinFast VF 3 has stronger performance than Wuling MiniEV.

3. Charging capacity and travel distance

According to information from VinFast, VF 3 can travel from 205 - 210 km after each full charge. As for Wuling MiniEV, the travel distance after each full charge is shorter, sometimes only from 120 - 170 km (depending on the version).

Not only that, VinFast VF 3 has more flexible charging capabilities as it can use both 220V household electricity to charge and fast charging at VinFast's high-capacity charging stations. Fast charging time from 10 - 70% of VinFast VF 3 is only 36 minutes.

Meanwhile, Wuling MiniEV can only be charged via 220V household power and cannot be fast charged. Therefore, the charging time of Wuling MiniEV is longer, up to 6.5 - 9 hours depending on the battery version.

4. Selling price

Wuling MiniEV was launched on June 29, 2023 and has a selling price that is considered quite high compared to the vehicle's usage value, starting from 239 - 279 million VND.

Meanwhile, the initial starting price if depositing early for VinFast VF 3 is 235 and 315 million VND.

Currently, Wuling MiniEV is applying some discount promotions at dealers so it has a better selling price than VinFast VF 3.

However, VinFast VF 3 has a battery rental policy with a cost that is considered more reasonable and allows car buyers to proactively choose the cost that suits their needs.

5. Brand credibility

In terms of brand value, VinFast has a history of more than 7 years of development, while Wuling MiniEV has only been officially sold for less than 1 year in Vietnam.

In addition, the number of Wulig MiniEV cars is not much, while VinFast with a product range covering all electric car segments has been highly appreciated by many Vietnamese users.
