Creative movement to celebrate the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc has just signed and issued a Plan to organize a Campaign to compose, stage and promote literary and artistic works to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) with the theme "Ho Chi Minh City - 50 years of proud heroic epic".

The campaign aims to promote the creative capacity of the city's artists and individuals and organizations interested in the development of the field of literature and art to participate in creating many valuable literary and artistic works, praising the historical value of the struggle for national liberation of the Vietnamese revolution, the construction and development of a civilized, modern and affectionate Ho Chi Minh City. Through the campaign, the source of literary and artistic works will be enriched and diversified, creating conditions for the deep and strong spread of good values ​​among the people, contributing to encouraging the patriotic emulation movement, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification.

The campaign focuses on the genres of music, cinema, architecture, dance, fine arts, photography, theater, and literature. The Organizing Committee encourages authors to create works with creative content and forms of expression on a large scale in the spirit of "building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture with a strong national identity".

Individuals, collectives who are authors, groups of authors, owners of works who are Vietnamese citizens, foreigners living, studying, working in Vietnam are all eligible to participate. Each author can participate in many different fields; participating scripts and literary and artistic works are scripts and works published from January 1, 2022 to April 30, 2024.

The deadline for receiving entries is April 30, 2024; the evaluation and award ceremony is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024. The submission location is the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City.
