According to a survey by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM), the vast majority of Russians continue to positively assess President Vladimir Putin as the country's leader.
The survey results showed that up to 82% of respondents expressed support for President Putin's activities. 80% of respondents affirmed that they have absolute trust in their leader.
The survey was conducted among 1,500 Russian adults in 104 settlements in 53 regions of Russia. This weekly survey was conducted from February 16 to 18.
The poll results were released about three weeks before Russia held its presidential election. This is the first time in history that Russia held a presidential election in three days (from March 15 to 17). With a high approval rating, incumbent President Putin is predicted to win overwhelmingly against the remaining candidates.
